The Arghilian Time System (AT)

Perhaps one of the most defining features of Arghilian life is its distinct time system, born from the planet's unusual orbit around its star, which in turn orbits a black hole. This results in an Arghilian 'day' or 'lan kegios' (cycle) being equivalent to approximately 1.89 million Orbis Time (OT) years.

  • Grindios & Kegios: The Arghilian calendar consists of 12 'grindios' (months). The concept of a 'day' as commonly understood is expressed through 'kegios'.
  • Everday & Evernight: Time is divided into 'solomios has kegios' (everday) and 'solomios has nerbios' (evernight). For the continent of Dinnotophien, grindios 1-6 constituted its 'everday,' a period of 68 standard (Terran-equivalent) days. The 'great ever dark' or evernight was significantly longer.
  • Lan Kegios & Orbital Lengths: A full 'lan kegios' (one full Arghilian day/cycle) spans approximately 13,795.62 'Orbital Lengths' (triongias has wean'Larriosm, or OL). This vast period was divided into 12 local orbital time zones to manage daily life.

Language, Conflict, and Accord

Arghilian history records significant internal strife concerning language, notably the conflicts between 'Linguals' and 'Anti-Linguals.' These were not mere debates but periods of active conflict.

  • RaCTE's Role: The intelligence agency RaCTE played a crucial, albeit covert, role in these societal divisions. It is documented that RaCTE suggested the creation of the Anti-Lingual party within the DDP, contributed to the dismantling of Lingual bases, and ultimately proposed the 'Arghilian's LaLA'.
  • Arghilian's LaLA: This term likely refers to a significant linguistic or cultural accord, treaty, or set of policies designed to end the destructive conflicts between the Lingual and Anti-Lingual factions, bringing a measure of unity to Arghilian society on this front.

Early Arghilian (specifically Nomectosian) understanding of the cosmos carried a unique perspective. It was historically believed that different galaxies were, in fact, individual universes. This belief likely shaped their approach to early space exploration and their place within the wider cosmic landscape before further scientific advancements clarified the nature of galaxies.

Artistic Expression: The Poetry of Randuan

Beyond his military and intelligence contributions, General Randuan, the founder of RaCTE, was also a poet. His poems, written in a small notebook, were collected after his death in 2085 AT and published in a six-part series. His last recorded words, "Well, here we are, Randuan, where your life leaves; --", offer a poignant glimpse into the personal reflections of a pivotal historical figure.
